Developing High Standards of Technical Education Ternium inaugurated the ETRR in Santa Cruz, Brazil.
The second Roeberto Rocca Technical School (ETRRs) received its first class in February 2025. Built near Ternium Brasil slab mill and with a capacity for 576 students, the school offers a three-year technical program with specialization in Mechatronics and Electromechanics. All students receive some level of scholarship determined by socioeconomic criteria and academic performance.
The first ETRR was built in 2016 in the city of Pesquería, Nuevo León, México. Since its opening, 602 young people have graduated and 83% of them are either working or continuing their studies. The ETRR’s educational model is based on the HighTech High Schools in California (United States) and the PBL Works organization, with a strong focus on STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The ETRR has established itself as a center of excellence and aims to enhance high school students’ abilities, promote their employability in industrial activities, and facilitate social mobility. The ETRRs also place a strong emphasis on providing continuous learning opportunities for teachers.
Promoting educational opportunities for our communities is at the core of our social support activities, and the ETRRs reinforce Ternium’s commitment to integrating the community with industry.
